Following a deal with Anti-, an upcoming album and North American tour, Dead Man’s Bones are kicking their promotion machine into high gear. However, they’re not exactly going about it in typical fashion, at least not on the live front.

First, the project helmed by actors Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields announced that each of their tour stops would feature local children’s choirs and talent shows, and now the guys have revealed that they’re also doing a residency at a puppet theatre. Yep, a puppet theatre.

In September, Dead Man’s Bones will be doing three guaranteed-to-be-special shows at the Bob Baker Marionette Theater in L.A. According to the press release, “The residency will showcase a unique collaboration between the theater and the band. The band scored and directed these performances, and will be providing the soundtrack to an unusual and remarkable spectacle.”

The trio of dates at the theatre — on September 11, 18 and 25 — will feature the band and the Silverlake Conservatory Children’s Choir, who also contributed to the Dead Man’s Bones album, as well as a lot of puppets, of course.

There is no word if Dead Man’s Bones have plans to set up a similar residency in Canada but they are playing several dates in the Great White North, including Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. (A full list of dates can be found here.)

As for that record, it’s due out October 6 via Anti-.

Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields are set to bring their band Dead Man’s Bones on its very first tour this October.

Pitchfork reports, “The actor/musician duo will bring the songs from their band’s self-title debut album to life with the help of a local choir in each of the twelve spots they’re hitting. Their album was recorded with the Silverlake Conservatory Children’s Choir but they can’t bring all those kids on the road with them. Hence, a new group in every city.”

The opening act for the shows will be a talent show, organized by the band and featuring local talent in each city. Amazing! Check out the tour promo video below. It’s almost exactly like one of those videos you watch before you enter a haunted mansion at an amusement park!

You can go listen to “My Body’s a Zombie For You” over here. Enjoy! It sounds amazingly unique to me and I really like it.

We’ve all been holding our breath that at some point in time former real-life lovers and on-screen love interests, Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, would once again reunite, professionally at least.

So when rumors began circulating that they were making the film into a musical, we anxiously exhaled. Finally, we might be able to see them playing lovebirds Allie and Noah all over again! (We were so excited, in fact, that we even came up with a list of “Notebook” scenes that we think could be easily turned into showstopping numbers.) But, leave it to Rachel to dash our hopes and dreams that she doesn’t think she’ll be back for more “Notebook” action.

“Yea I know. I just heard this,” she told MTV News while promoting her upcoming tearjerker “The Time Traveler’s Wife.” She also revealed that even though she “wasn’t invited to play the lead character,” she’s still excited to see it.

She does, however, think that Ryan certainly has the chops to tackle a musical. We mean, he is releasing an album this fall. “He can sing. He could do it actually,” she said, saying that she can’t belt a tune, but does have a talent that may lend itself to another kind of “Notebook” adaptation. “If they do ‘The Notebook’ on ice, yes. That’s next!” she joked.

So, how upset are you that you won’t be able to see Rachel and Ryan reuniting anytime soon? And, do you think they should turn the movie into a musical?

When Ryan Gosling left Bardot last night, he took some time to chat and pose for pics with a gaggle of female admirers, and rather than pasting a fake smile on his face, the actor seemed genuinely thrilled to be giving the ladies (and their moms!) the night of their life.

You can view some pictures here!

Ryan Gosling hands off a five-dollar bill to a homeless man sitting in a wheelchair at a Beverly Hills gas station on Thursday afternoon (July 23). The 28-year-old Canadian actor was later seen filling up a gas container for a friend who ran out of gas.

Here’s the first review for Ryan’s upcoming album Dead Man’s Bones, out October 6. Filter Mag says, “One might expect an actor’s foray into music to be littered with mistakes and miscues, but Gosling is able to craft a masterful album with the great help of [Zach] Shields and the Silverlake Conservatory Children’s Choir. The unique album will find company in similar side-projects like She & Him rather than The Bacon Brothers.”
